Checking the date
You send the date, the town and the type of party. Within one working day I let you know whether the date is free and what it costs: a fixed amount, not a “from” price.
Getting to know each other
Personal contact matters a great deal to me, so the first thing I like to do is give you a quick call. Depending on what you would like, we can then arrange further contact, by telephone or on location. Naturally, this is without obligation and free of charge.
Running order and music
Because it is all about you, I always ask for a playlist of music that I then get to work with. I would also like to hear your preferred music styles, and what you definitely do not want to hear. It also helps to agree a short running order, so that I can take all your wishes into account. Finally, it is important for me to know what kind of crowd you are expecting in terms of age and social groups, such as students, companies, youth groups, music lovers, sports teams and clubs or associations.
The party
Depending on the nature of the party, I set up at least 1.5 hours before it starts and do a soundcheck and lighting check, so that everything is ready in good time before your guests arrive. I also take everything down entirely myself, usually within about 45 minutes, so that everything is neatly cleared away. All you have to do is dance!
Why do people book me?
For me, a good evening stands or falls on reading the room. Not on the most expensive set or the loudest subwoofer, but on the right track at the right moment, and on daring to switch when the floor asks for something other than what was on the list.
Besides that, a large part of my work comes before the evening: I talk to the venue about power, noise limits and the finishing time, match the running order to the speeches and the dinner, and choose a set-up that suits the room. On the day itself that saves exactly the half hour in which things otherwise go wrong.

I'm DJ Paul and I play under the name Sun Groove Music from Amersfoort. I play at parties, weddings and corporate parties, and in clubs, within a radius of 40 km around Amersfoort.
The Sun Groove Music sound sits where a relaxed lounge vibe flows into an energetic dance floor. I often call it Ibiza magic on home soil: deep, warm basslines with captivating melodies. A good evening does not come from a fixed playlist. Frequently asked questions about booking a DJ
What does a DJ cost for an evening?
My price depends on the length of the booking, the number of guests, the venue and whether sound and lighting are needed as well. I play parties of 50 to 200 guests, and you always get a fixed price confirmed in advance, with nothing added afterwards. Request a quotation with the date and the type of party and I will send you a concrete figure.
Do you work with a contract?
Yes. After booking you receive a booking confirmation from me stating the date, the times, the venue, what I provide and the fixed price. That way we both know exactly where we stand.
How and when do I pay?
The payment arrangement is set out in the booking confirmation you receive after booking, together with the fixed price, the date and the times. No costs will be added that are not stated in it.
What if I have to cancel or want to move the date?
Please get in touch as soon as possible. Moving the date is only possible if the new date is also available. Cancelling up to one month before the agreed date costs nothing. If you cancel later than that, it depends on the preparation work I have already done.
How quickly do I get a reply and what do you need from me?
You hear from me within one working day whether the date is still free. Useful to pass on straight away: the date, the town and the venue, the type of party, the expected number of guests and the start and finishing times. With those five details I can give you a concrete price right away.
Can I supply a Spotify list?
Yes, please do: I always ask for a playlist, and a shared playlist is the easiest way to pass on what you want. Put in it what definitely has to be played and make a second list of what you absolutely do not want to hear. To me that second list is worth just as much as the first.
Do you play beyond 40 km around Amersfoort?
My working area is a radius of 40 km around Amersfoort, because I like working locally and know the area well. If your venue is just outside it, simply ask, with the name of the place. In that case too, you get a fixed price confirmed in advance.
Are sound and lighting included?
Yes. Let me know in your enquiry whether the venue already has a system; if it has not, I bring a suitable sound and lighting rig and include it in the fixed price.
How long do you play on an evening?
A party evening usually comes to four or five hours of playing time with me, for example from 21.00 to 01.00. Longer or shorter is possible as well; the agreed start and finishing times are in the booking confirmation, so the venue and its staff know what to expect.
Can I decide the music myself?
Yes, it is all about you. I always ask for a playlist, your preferred music styles and anything you absolutely do not want to hear. We also agree a short running order, and I would like to know what kind of crowd you are expecting. Within that, I build the evening on what the dance floor is doing. Requests from guests are welcome.
Is your date still free?
